Our Story

   In 1986, Vadapalani in Chennai was a tiny residential area, way too modest compared to the bustling town it is today. It was here in the month of November 1986, the first seeds were sown at Saidapet Road by S.Rajasekaran, who laid the foundation for Balaji Group. It was in this year S.Rajasekaran left his well-paid job at an export office to start a business he envisioned. He envisaged the path and showed others its means. Soon within the next upcoming years he was joined by his three brothers. Together they forged the path ahead.

   Our journey began by trading edible salts on a wholesale basis to retailers in and around the area. Evolving over time, we have steadily expanded our product range across multiple categories such as whole spices, pulses, dals, cereals, dry fruits, millets, rice, and food grains. S.Rajasekaran, always believed in quality may it be the products we choose to sell or the services we choose to offer. Over the years he strongly forged these values within the blood cells of our organization which stems our remarkably simple strategy which our company relies on to propel ahead. In line with our founder’s belief and the company’s strategy, our motto stands simple and clean. “Quality speaks wherever we are".

   Bearing the motto in our every stride, we gained additional credibility through aggressive pricing for quality products through convenientand quality services to our esteemed customers. Today, after 3 decades, Balaji Traders caters to customers across a wide range of portfolios such as small over the table retailers, semi-wholesalers, Supermarkets, Hypermarkets, Marriage Caterers, Industrial caterers, restaurants & Star Hotels.

   Today with more than 36 years of business expertise, we at BALAJI’s understand quality better. We stretch our search for quality products across the width and breadth of our country. We understand the importance to maintain quality at every parameter and we take that little extra effort at every stage right from procurement and transportation to preparation and presentation to ensure the right products from the right origin at their right quality in their right prices reaches our customers efficiently.

   We cater whole spices, pulses, dals, cereals, dry fruits, millets, rice, and food grains to a wide portfolio of customers, ranging from small retail shops to Semi-wholesalers, Supermarkets, Hypermarkets, Marriage Caterers, Industrial caterers, restaurants & Star Hotels. Most importantly, with the growing age, we ensure that our products reach our customers conveniently too. We accept a wide range of payment options right from simple cash to cards, UPI to bank transfers. Significantly, we provide the option of delivering our products at your doorstep anywhere within Chennai City limits. We can also ship it across to other parts of the world on a TO-PAY basis.

Infrastructure

   To ensure quality services, it is important that we field in the right infrastructure to be more efficient and effective in this competitive world. From state of art software to power our systems and processes to a highly significant fleet of trucks, we field it all to compete in this modern world. We have 2 separate customized in-house apps to field to our wholesale and retail customers according to their needs. This helps to give our customers hands-on customized experience based on their needs. We also field in state of art packing systems, right from FFP packing systems to highly sensitive and vibrant inkjet coding machines to clearly mark on our products. We also field in a power packed CRM management program to cater to our wholesale customers.

    Our entire team and system are designed to adapt to any new changes that we bring on to enhance customer satisfaction through our services or products. We as a team and company are also open to any new emerging trends and technology which may help us enhance our products and services for our customers.

Sai Sriram Trust

    We care for the society we thrive in. We at BALAJI TRADERS like to identify all our philanthropic programs and activities in the name of SAI SRIRAM. At present we have initiated a trust in the name “SAI SRIRAM TRUST” to envision and execute our philanthropic programs and ideas under this banner.

    As a first step to cater to this society, this trust at present functions and operates SAI SRIRAM TRAINING SCHOOL at VADAPALANI. Its primary objective is to provide quality education and life skills to children mainly affected by mental retardation, cerebral palsy or autism. We aim to train them to lead quality and dignified lives in this society while meeting their basic needs and requirements.At present we have a small group of around 5 special children who are intensively take of

Their time table includes teaching them basic life skills like time, money value, computer skills (wherever possible), music, art etc. They are also trained in physical activities to strengthen their endurance.
